By incorporating ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive into your paint, you create a barrier that inhibits mould formation, ensuring a hygienic and visually appealing finish.

ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive carries the HSE Approval No 8627.

Product Benefits:

  • Effective Mould Resistance: By mixing ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive into your chosen paint or coating, you create a highly effective barrier against mould growth. This helps safeguard your walls and ceilings from the unsightly appearance and potential health risks associated with mould.

  • Versatile Compatibility: ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive can be mixed into various paint types, including emulsions, gloss (oil-based), tile grout, eggshell paints, wallpaper paste, and acrylic paints (water-based), allowing you to enhance the performance of different coatings.

  • Easy to Use: Mixing the additive into your paint is simple and hassle-free, as each 50ml bottle of ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive is designed to be easily incorporated into 2.5 litres of any standard paint or emulsion.

  • Economical Solution: By adding ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive to your existing paint, you can transform it into a mould-resistant coating without the need to invest in specialized products or treatments, saving both time and money.

  • Enhanced Longevity: The protective properties of ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive help extend the lifespan of painted surfaces by inhibiting mould growth and reducing the need for frequent cleaning or repainting.

Typical Applications:

  • Walls and Ceilings: With ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive, you can ensure long-lasting protection against mould on painted surfaces, keeping them clean and fresh.

  • Bathrooms and Kitchens: These areas are prone to moisture and humidity, making them a breeding ground for mould. By incorporating ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive into your bathroom and kitchen paints, you can prevent mould growth and maintain a hygienic environment.

  • Tile Grout: Adding the additive to tile grout formulations helps inhibit mould growth, improving the longevity and cleanliness of tiled surfaces.

  • Wallpaper Paste: Mixing ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive into wallpaper paste helps protect wallpapers from mould development, ensuring a longer-lasting and visually appealing finish.

Surface Preparation

Prepare the surfaces to be painted by removing any loose or flaking material (including wallpaper) and filling all cracks and defects in the normal way.

Use ACS Mould Wash Concentrate to clean down the prepared area. Dilute 1 part concentrate to 19 parts water (i.e a 250ml bottle of this product as supplied will make up to 5 litres when mixed with water).

With a soft cloth, sponge or soft brush, wash down all areas to be painted with the diluted concentrate taking care to remove any oil, grease or surface debris.

Allow drying thoroughly.

Store any unused concentrate in its original container tightly closed and out of reach of children. Diluted material should be decanted into a suitable plastic container and stored for future use (Do NOT use a Metal container). Mark the container with an Indelible pen.

Never use a food or drinks container and never leave a container unmarked.

Application Method

Carefully open the ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive container and add the entire contents to the paint.

Use 1 x 50ml bottle of ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive per every 2.5 litres of Emulsion, Paint Product, Tile Grout, Wallpaper Paste etc...

STIR VERY THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE, paying particular attention to the bottom of the can to disperse the additive throughout the paint.

Apply the paint in the normal way according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Do not overcoat the antimould finish (or wallpaper over it) as this will effectively seal in the mould resistant finish and allow the mould to grow back. ACS Anti Mould Paint Additive should only be used in conjunction with the 'finish' coat.

N.B. If an unfinished, textured wallpaper (blown vinyl, woodchip etc.) or similar is to be used then it should be hung after the diluted ACS Mould Wash Concentrate has fully dried. The wallpaper should then be coated with the anti-mould finish as above.
