Soudalead PB, engineered by Soudal, is a state-of-the-art, low modulus, neutral cure silicone sealant, perfect for both filling and sealing applications on a variety of metals, primarily lead. This product sets the industry standard with its unique formulation that curates a balance between performance, applicability, and longevity.
Soudalead PB offers impeccable adhesion and partners seamlessly with many materials regardless of the type of lead: milled, cast, or rolled. Its versatility allows for a wide range of applications while ensuring reliable adherence and longevity. Its permanent colour and UV resistant properties ensure the product sustains its aesthetic edge even when exposed to the elements.
Furthermore, Soudalead PB stands out due to its excellent moisture resistance, making it an ideal choice when sealing in different environmental conditions. It delivers very good resistance to ageing, retaining its flexible nature once fully cured without losing its mechanical properties or appearance.
Soudalead PB is a neutral cure silicone, ensuring material compatibility with low risk of corrosion or discolouration. This attribute, combined with its MEKO-free formulation, assures its extended longevity and health safety for users.
Low Modulus Neutral Cure Silicone: The low modulus property of Soudalead PB ensures it retains flexibility after full curing, accommodating constant vibrations or movement without losing its sealing qualities. Neutral cure silicones have excellent adhesion on all substrates, making the sealant extremely versatile.
Compatibility with All Lea Types: Whether dealing with milled, cast, or rolled lead, Soudalead PB perfectly adheres, enabling extensive usage across multiple lead types.
Excellent Adhesion on Many Materials: Soudalead PB naturally sticks to an impressive list of materials, from metals to treated woods, and from PVC profiles to glass, creating a secure, durable bond.
UV Resistance: The product can withstand continuous exposure to direct sunlight without cracking or hardening. Further, it steadfastly maintains its original colour even under harsh UV conditions.
Superior Moisture Resistance: Water and moisture are no match for Soudalead PB. The sealant secures surfaces irrefutably, making it reliable even in high-humidity settings.
Outstanding Ageing Resistance: The sealant's resistance to biological and chemical ageing factors extends its service life, promoting durable material use and decreasing maintenance needs.
MEKO-Free: With no traces of Methyl Ethyl Ketoxime (MEKO), Soudalead PB is guaranteed to be safe to use and environmentally friendly.
Sealing between Lead and Other Substrates: Soudalead PB is ideal for sealing joints between lead and other materials like treated wood, metal, PVC profiles, and glass. This makes it invaluable in a diverse set of industrial applications.
Sealing of Metal Roofing Sheets: The sealant can perfectly secure joints of metal roofing sheets, providing a watertight seal that withstands harsh weather conditions.
Building and Construction Joints: In structures where different materials meet, such as in concrete expansion joints or metal to masonry joints, Soudalead PB provides the much-needed bonding and sealing.
Sealing Joints with High Movement: Its low modulus nature enables it to accommodate high movement, perfect for sealing joints between diverse building materials that experience different thermal expansions and contractions.
Surfaces should be clean, dry, free of dust and grease.Porous surfaces in water loaded applications should be primed with Soudal Primer 150. No primer needed for non-porous substrates.
If Soudalead Pb comes in contact with certain surfaces such as bitumen or copper, discoloration may occur due to reaction with the substrate.
On PVC we recommend a preliminary adhesion test.
Certain paints and textured coatings on aluminium profiles can influence the adhesion. There is no adhesion on PE, PP, PTFE (Teflon®) and bituminous substrates. We recommend a preliminary compatibility test.
Application Method: With Caulking Gun.
Cleaning: Clean with a Surface Cleaner immediately after use.
Finishing: With a soapy solution before skinning. Tool Sealant with Soudaglatt Smoothing Tool for a smooth finish.
Repair: With the same material
Coverage of any sealant product varies depending on Joint Width and Joint Depth.
Please refer to our Guide on How To Measure The Number of Tubes Required For the Job.
Minimum Width for Joints: 5 mm
Maximum Width for Joints: 30 mm
Minimum Depth for Joints: 5 mm
Recommendation Sealing Jobs: Joint Width = 2 x Joint Depth.
Do not use on natural stones like marble, granite etc... as it may cause staining.
Not suitable for use on Bitumen Surfaces (Use Soudafalt instead)
Direct contact with the secondary sealing of insulating glass units (insulation) and the PVB-film of safety glass must be avoided.
A total absence of UV can cause a colour change of the sealant.
When finished with a finishing solution or soapy solution, make sure that the surfaces are not touched by this solution. This will cause the sealant not to adhere to that surface. Therefore we recommend to only dip the finishing tool in this solution.
We strongly recommend not to apply the product in full sunlight as it will dry very fast.
Do not use in applications where continuous water immersion is possible.
Do not use on polycarbonate.
