Bonding of most common materials such as rubber, felts, leather, cork, and plastics to several surfaces, including itself: This adhesive is highly suitable for bonding materials commonly found in various industries. It can securely bond rubber components, adhere felts to substrates, bond leather onto surfaces, and securely join plastics.
Bonding Synthetic Decoration Panels and worktops in wood, metal, or board: Soudal Contact Adhesive Liquid is an excellent choice for bonding synthetic decoration panels and worktops to substrates made of wood, metal, or board. It provides a reliable and durable bond, ensuring the longevity and stability of the bonded assembly.
Soudal Contact Adhesive Liquid is specially designed to bond various materials effectively. It is suitable for applications involving rubber, felts, leather, cork, and plastics, making it an ideal choice for a multitude of projects. However, please note that this adhesive should not be used on polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylene, or PTFE materials.
To ensure optimal adhesion, it is essential to prepare the surfaces properly. The to-be-bonded materials should be rigid, clean, dry, and free of dust and grease.
While generally, no pre-treatment is required, we highly recommend conducting a preliminary adhesion test on each surface.
Prior to use, it is recommended to stir the adhesive gently to ensure proper mixing and consistency.
Start by applying the adhesive uniformly onto both sides of the surfaces that need to be glued. This can be done using a notched trowel or a brush. Ensure an even and consistent application to achieve the best results.
After applying the adhesive, allow it to sit for approximately 10 minutes. This waiting time allows the adhesive to become tacky, ensuring proper bonding.
Once the waiting time is over, carefully join both parts together. Ensure alignment and apply firm pressure to achieve the desired bond strength.
For optimal results, it is recommended to exert further pressure or use a suitable clamping method until the adhesive has cured completely.
The approximate coverage of Soudal Contact Adhesive Liquid is 300ml per m².
However, it is important to note that coverage may vary depending on the specific application and the porosity of the materials being bonded.
It is always advisable to perform a sample application to determine the precise amount of adhesive required for your project.
Not suitable for use on Polystyrene, Polyethylene, Polypropylene or PTFE.
The applied pressure (not the duration of the compression) will determine the ultimate strength of the bond.
