Soudal Grip All Hybrid Polymer exhibits strong adhesion on most substrates, including common building materials such as wood, concrete, metal, and many plastics.
However, it is not suitable for polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), PTFE (such as Teflon®), copper or copper alloys, and bituminous substrates. When bonding plastics like PMMA (e.g., Plexi® glass) and polycarbonate (e.g., Makrolon® or Lexan®) in stress-loaded applications, note that stress cracking or crazing may occur, so Grip All Hybrid Polymer is not recommended for these uses.
For optimal adhesion and critical applications (e.g., joints exposed to extreme weather or high moisture), a pre-treatment procedure is advised. Prime porous, water-loaded surfaces with Soudal Primer 150, and prepare non-porous surfaces with Soudal Cleaner & Degreaser or Soudal Multi Cleaner Foam Spray.
Proper surface preparation is key to ensuring a strong and durable bond. Begin by ensuring all bonding surfaces are dry, clean, and free from dust, grease, and other contaminants.
Non-porous surfaces, such as metals or plastics, should be cleaned with Soudal Cleaner & Degreaser or Soudal Multi Cleaner Foam Spray to remove any residues that could interfere with adhesion. For applications involving water-loaded joints on porous substrates, prime the surface with Soudal Primer 150 to enhance adhesion.
A preliminary adhesion and compatibility test on each surface is recommended to confirm compatibility with the adhesive.
To apply Soudal Grip All Hybrid Polymer, use a suitable applicator, such as a caulking gun, to dispense the adhesive evenly onto one of the surfaces.
Immediately press the surfaces together firmly to ensure complete contact across the bond line. For heavy or large materials, secure them in place if necessary until the adhesive has cured.
Allow the adhesive to cure fully as per the manufacturer’s instructions before subjecting the bond to any stress or moisture. Be mindful that applying different reactive joint sealants in the same area requires the initial sealant to be fully cured before introducing the next.
