Thor Helical Remedial W60 Flexi Grout

Thor Helical Remedial W60 Flexi Grout is a high-performance shrink compensated cementitious grout, which rapidly develops compressive strength.

This cement grout / polymer blend is supplied in a sealed tamper-proof mixing bucket.

Thor Helical Remedial W60 Flexi Grout mortar consists of powdered ingredients and a liquid formulation, which are mixed on-site with a drill-powered mixing paddle, to a smooth creamy consistency.

When mixed the constituents yield 3lts of thixotropic mortar, which can be applied by a gun or pump into apertures or by a trowel onto surfaces to bond masonry and steel components.

Product Features:

  • Rapid Early Strength Gain - can develop 30% compressive strength in 24 hours.

  • Thixotropic - Will remain where its placed even in overhead applications.

  • Does not Bleed or Settle.

  • Excellent Cohesive Fluidity - Easy application under low pressure.

  • Non-shrink - Shrinkage compensated to maintain maximum contact with substrate.

Typical Applications:

  • For bonding helical masonry reinforcement into wall slots for the retrofitting of masonry reinforcement.

  • For bonding masonry pins into holes drilled into masonry substrates.

  • For bonding and bedding masonry, bedding bearing plates, grouting and packing.

  • Bedding brick slips.

Product Performance:

Tensile Performance:

  • Tensile Strength at 20°C to BS6319 at 7 days - 3.5N/mm²

  • Tensile Strength at 20°C to BS6319 at 28 days - 5.0N/mm²

Flexural Performance:

  • Flexural Strength at 20°C to BS6319 at 7 days - 7.5N/mm²

  • Flexural Strength at 20°C to BS6319 at 28 days - 12.0N/mm²

Compressive Performance:

  • Compressive Modulus at 20°C to BS6319 at 7 days - 13.0MN/mm²

  • Compressive Modulus at 20°C to BS6319 at 28 days - 13.5MN/mm²

Strength:

  • 2 Days - 25 MPa

  • 4 Days - 30 MPa

  • 7 Days - 35 MPa

  • 14 Days - 50 MPa

  • 28 Days - 55 MPa

  • 42 Days - 65 MPa

  • 56 Days - 75 MPa

  • 84 Days - 80 MPa

Surface Preparation:

Proposed substrates must be stable. Substrate must be cleaned free of oils, organic growth, dust and debris. Substrate must be thoroughly wetted, surface damp but free from surface water.

Mixing:

W60 is packed in a 6 Litre Tub containing 2 x 2.5Kg bags of W60 (Part A) and 2 x 500ml of Liquid (Part B).

Use the bucket provided to mix the grout.

Empty ¾ of the Part B liquid into the empty bucket. Slowly add the Part A Powder mixing continuously with an electric spiral paddle type mixer. Add remaining Part B liquid as, or if required to obtain the required consistency depending on the application.

Mix for a minimum of 5 minutes to produce a smooth cohesive grout. No additional water or other additives should be added.

Once mixed the grout is ready to use and has a working time of approx. 40 minutes although this will be reduced in warm conditions.

As it is thixotropic, any grout left in the bucket will “gel” shortly after mixing. Re-mixing of the grout with the electric mixer will return the grout to its workable consistency.

After use and before grout sets, all equipment should be cleaned immediately in clean water.

Grout Application:

To minimise waste and ensure efficient installation, grout mixing and application should only commence when sufficient works have been prepared to allow the mixed grout to be used as soon as possible.

Applied grout should be protected from frost and not be applied when freezing temperatures are expected.

In warm conditions or on porous substrates, ensure grout doesn’t dry out prematurely (protective sheeting or water spraying).

Where necessary, subsequent finishes e.g. matching repointing mortars can be applied as soon as the grout is stiff enough to support the applied material

Yield:

The Yield from 5kg of W60 (Part A) mixed with 1000ml of Part B (White Liquid) is approximately 3 Litres.
